St Edwards, York
This new two-storey detached home was under construction in December 2018 and was being built with modern concrete bricks. Painted samples were applied to the areas of brick on the external elevations (for colour approval) and there was an issue with staining on the painted surface. We believed this was due to iron oxide deposits which were present within the brick. These contaminants were migrating to the surface causing discolouration due to the migration of water vapour through the breathable Keim coating. To resolve this issue, we recommended using KEIM I.G. Primer, followed by a two-coat application of KEIM Royalan to provide a high light reflectance surface, appearing bright and vibrant, even on dull days.
