Strangford Presbyterian Church, Strangford
Presbyterian Church in Strangford was built in circa 1840 and is Grade B1 Listed church. There was evidence of surface crazing of fissures in the new lime render with some small areas that still needed to be completed. Another area of the church had existing paint coatings on the stucco render, we recommended to strip this along with the central wreath moulding and acroteria – taking care not to damage these areas. On the previously painted cement base roughcast render, there was severely contaminated mould, moss and algae growth. The paint on the window sills were very loose and flaking, we therefore advised that this should also be stripped, using KEIM STS 7M. KEIM Royalan was applied onto surfaces, due to the location of the church.
