The new bare concrete columns had evidence of salt efflorescence on the base of some columns, KEIM Silan Primer was applied onto these. KEIM Silan Primer is a hydrophobic impregnation (water repellent) for mineral substrates with the ability to resist the passage of some waterborne salts. KEIM Concretal C, which is a waterproof sol silicate based paint specially formulated for protection against carbonation of concrete surfaces, was applied onto each column.
