Ackworth House, The Beach, Filey
Ackworth House is an iconic beachfront building located in Filey, North Yorkshire. It was previously a residential home providing nursing care for up to 43 elderly people. The home was closed in 2014, and lay unoccupied for three years, before local development company White House Leisure (Filey) Ltd purchased the property with a view to returning the building to its previous grandeur.
David Hunter of White House Leisure (Filey) Ltd, who knew of Keim Mineral Paints, met with Area Business Development Manager, Paul Milligan in 2017 to discuss the most cost effective and appropriate paint coatings to renovate and protect the façade from the sea related elements.
Appreciating the client’s brief, Paul recommended using KEIM Turado system, a quick and easy to apply, highly fibre-reinforced mesh which provides the strongest resistant against cracking and offers excellent breathability. This was then coated using KEIM Royalan paint, a mineral paint designed for extreme climate conditions.
This development took two years to be completed and now consists of eight beach front spacious apartments.
