Kensington Palace, London
As part of the £12 million renovation of Kensington Palace, KEIM Restauro Lasur was used onto the external façade to create a unique and bespoke paint effect designed to tie in the higher level brickwork to the ground level render.
The lower level of the building was rendered and painted in a Portland grey colour using a conventional paint system. The existing coatings were removed and the surfaces were repaired with KEIM Spachtel and KEIM Universal Render Fine prior to the paint application. The colours of the KEIM Soldalit (opaque base) and KEIM Restauro Lasur were then matched onto each elevation to the brickwork above. Various different systems and application techniques were utilised to create the finish.
