The Boltons, London
The Boltons is a street located in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, London. The street is divided into two crescents of large houses, with communal gardens and St Mary’s Church in the centre. It is widely regarded as one of the most sought after locations and finest addresses in London and among the most expensive streets in the UK.
The Boltons area was developed by the Gunter family between 1845 and 1870 and is dominated by large stucco fronted houses, some of which have been converted and split into apartments. The area is popular with both international and domestic buyers and tenants. The Boltons and the surrounding area has always been a haunt of the rich and famous including some modern celebrities such as Bryan May, Madonna and Eric Clapton and historical people such as Douglas Fairbanks Jr and Beatrix Potter.
Of the 28 houses in the The Boltons, nearly half have made the decision to decorate using KEIM Mineral Paints. The stucco render is ideally suited for KEIM Mineral Paints even where conventional coatings have been used. The KEIM finish is durable, breathable and gives an incredibly high quality finish for such desirable buildings.
One of the challenges faced when decorating these buildings is preparation of the underlying existing coatings. KEIM Mineral Paints can be applied onto sound existing coatings and it was important for all of the buildings to have the coatings assessed. Site visits to assess surfaces and prepare specifications is part of KEIM’s comprehensive support service which also includes free of charge samples, colour and applications advice.
All of the buildings painted with a KEIM finish look bright, clean and in good condition, despite some having been decorated for a number of years.
